Sometimes life changes in an instant.

For Mikey, it happened when the owner he loved passed away. 💔

Mikey and his two canine siblings suddenly found themselves with nowhere to go. The family member who inherited them desperately searched for help, but every shelter was full. Feeling like he had no other choice, he took them to the veterinarian to be euthanized.

But fate had other plans.

The founder of Helmstead Holler Haven Animal Rescue happened to be at the veterinary office that very day. She stepped in immediately and offered to take the dogs.

One of Mikey’s brothers has already found his forever home.

Now it’s Mikey’s turn. ❤️

🐾 Heartworm negative
🐾 Potty trained
🐾 Walks beautifully on a leash
🐾 Good with other dogs after proper introductions
🐾 Neuter appointment will be scheduled soon
🐾 Calm, gentle, and incredibly affectionate

Mikey is the definition of a gentle soul.

He doesn’t ask for much.

He simply wants someone to sit beside him, scratch his ears, and remind him that he’s loved.

He’s perfectly content relaxing around the house, enjoys leisurely walks, and has wonderful manners indoors. His favorite thing in the world is being petted. If you stop to love on him, he’ll happily soak up every second of it.

After losing the only home he’d ever known, Mikey deserves a family that will never let him wonder where he belongs again.

He’s not looking for excitement.

He’s looking for comfort.
For stability.
For someone to love with his whole heart.
